About this item

Details

The storefront light that reaches out. Where the short bent lamp tucks in close, this one runs a long horizontal arm well out from the wall before it bends down to the shade — the fixture that carries light past a deep awning or a projecting sign and lays it right over the display below. It's the detail you see striding across a wide market or grocery facade, each lamp throwing its pool of light out where the sidewalk business actually happens.

The arm is a single clean bend with a long reach, finishing in a small downlight shade. A short mounting tenon on the back plugs into a drilled hole in your structure wall, so the lamp sits flush and square on a visible bracket plate. The extra reach is the point: it clears awnings, signboards, and transoms that a short-arm lamp would light from too close, and it reads as the deliberate choice a real shopkeeper made to get light where it was needed.

Because the arm is modeled hollow, this isn't just a static casting. The bore runs the length of the arm from the shade down through the mounting tenon, so fine magnet wire can be threaded through and the leads brought out behind the wall — which is exactly how the warm-white and cool-white LED versions are built. Order it bare to light your own way, or let us wire a micro-LED through the arm so the fixture arrives ready to connect.

Run a row of them across a wide facade the way the real markets did and a flat wall becomes a storefront with reach and depth. Rust-weathered or freshly painted, they read instantly as a working block of businesses.

Each lit lamp ships with an SMT 0402 white LED already threaded through the hollow arm, with two fine magnet-wire leads exiting the mounting tenon. We leave the resistor off on purpose: you add a series resistor sized for your own supply, so these drop into a 5 V Arduino rail, a 12 V bus, or anything in between.

Size it from the supply voltage: R = (supply - 3.0 V) / 0.008 for a realistic ~8 mA glow — roughly 240-270 ohm at 5 V, ~1.2k ohm at 12 V, or ~1.6-1.8k ohm at 16 V (a 1/4 W resistor is plenty). One resistor per LED, in series. Observe polarity — reverse the leads if it doesn't light, and always run it through a resistor.

  • Fixture type: Bent storefront downlight (long single-bend arm)
  • Model dimensions: 23 mm L x 7 mm W x 10 mm H (includes mounting tenon)
  • Scale reach: ~6.5 ft prototype arm reach at 1:87.1
  • Mounting: Short tenon on arm back — drill the wall, plug, glue flush
  • Arm: Hollow bore full length (shade to tenon) for wiring
  • Print process: SLA resin (fine detail on thin arm)
  • LED: SMT 0402 white, pre-wired through the hollow arm, leads exit the mounting tenon
  • LED color temperature: Warm white
  • LED forward voltage: ~3.0 V (white 0402)
  • Series resistor: Not included — buyer sizes for their supply. R = (Vsupply - 3.0) / 0.008 for ~8 mA
  • Example resistors: ~240-270 ohm at 5 V, ~1.2k ohm at 12 V, ~1.6-1.8k ohm at 16 V (1/4 W fine)
  • Polarity: Directional — reverse the leads if it doesn't light
  • Best for: Wide shopfronts, deep awnings, projecting signs, markets
